This is something that would be difficult to succeedd with for a low budget site but for major businesses with deep pockets it could work.

This type of site can have old, current and future information about everything. A website that large could get loads of hits and unique guest. Horizontal content web sites are grown with the use of keyword sentences. They use an algorithm that searches for hundreds even thousands of these and build pages for each one. After that you can display an item or program to every page. This kind of goes against all the professionals who say that keeping your web site zeroed in on a particular niche is the best way to go. But I would not worry to much about your niche websites just yet. But it can make you wonder about how sort after the lower end of search results will become. Since long tail keywords are best for small websites to get their foot in the door how will this effect their visitor count in the coming days?
Sure a well established web site could make an attempt at this but there is a disadvantage. This will take lots of SEO and it would be a big time drainer to construct each page for page one views. Some pages may do well while others will never get seen. So there is a good chance that the large corporations that will try this will pay lots of money on building links to all of their pages.
